WHO WE ARE

The Sound Lounge (TSL) opened in May 2025 alongside the launch of Percy, the all-day diner where TSL is located. For owners Seth Kligerman, Kyle Horne and Will Landicho, TSL represents the realization of a longtime dream: to create a welcoming third space built around a shared love of music, hospitality, food, drink, and community in a comfortable environment.

The room’s retro mid-century inspired interior was designed collaboratively by Seth and Kyle alongside renowned interior designer Shawn Hausman. Hausman is known for shaping some of Philadelphia’s most prominent restaurants, including Butcher and Singer, Stella, The Dandelion, and Parc. He was also an early founder of the iconic 1980s New York nightclub Area, celebrated for its elaborate rotating themed décor. That same spirit of curiosity, playfulness, and attention to atmosphere informs the cozy and strikingly quirky character of TSL.

At the heart of the space is a meticulously engineered Hi-Fi sound system imagined and installed by Justin Gibbon and Alex Tebbs Mitchell of Great Circles, who spent countless hours tuning the environment to professional acoustic standards. The system centers on two horn-loaded Altec VOT-A7 speakers powered by a Yamaha XM6150 amplifier. The DJ booth features a rotary Ecler WARM4 mixer and two Technics 1200MK7 turntables fitted with Taruya TW-08M cartridges. Sound flows seamlessly into the bar and restaurant through a pair of vintage Altec 604-8G speakers placed just outside of the lounge facing into the bar. These are driven by Schiit Aegir 2F monoblock amplifiers, allowing both restaurant guests and bar patrons to share in the listening experience.

The result is one of the most distinctive rooms for DJs, listeners, and artists to gather around Hi-Fi sound. With thoughtful design, exceptional audio, and food and drink from the Percy kitchen and bar, The Sound Lounge offers a place to slow down, listen deeply, and connect. As Seth notes, “At the least, if you’re going to open a huge space, add components that are fulfilling.”
